Terms of Service

Last updated: 7 June 2026

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Law Firms Australia.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Law Firms Australia, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the Terms, you may not access the website.

2. Directory Information

  • The information in our directory is provided by law firms or collected from public sources.
  • We strive for accuracy but cannot guarantee all information is current or error-free.
  • Users should verify any information directly with the law firms before making decisions.
  • Presence in our directory does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation.

3. No Legal Services

  • Law Firms Australia is a directory service only.
  • We do not provide legal advice or legal services.
  • We are not a law firm and do not represent any listed firms.
  • Any legal advice should be obtained directly from qualified legal professionals.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate information when using our contact forms.
  • Not misuse or attempt to manipulate our directory listings.
  • Not attempt to scrape, copy, or reproduce our directory content.
  • Not use our service for any unlawful purpose.

5. Reviews and Ratings

  • Reviews and ratings are collected from public sources.
  • We do not create, modify, or remove reviews unless required by law.
  • Star ratings are aggregated from multiple sources where available.
  • We maintain a neutral position regarding the content of reviews.

6. Featured Listings

  • Law firm owners who have claimed a listing may purchase a paid “Featured” placement for that listing.
  • Only one featured slot is available per practice area per city. A slot is allocated on a first-come basis and is not guaranteed to be available at any given time.
  • Featured placement gives your listing prominence in the directory and in our legal tools, a Featured badge, and an enhanced profile. The specific benefits may change over time.
  • Featured placement does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or ranking of legal quality by Law Firms Australia.

7. Billing and Auto-Renewal

  • Featured listings are sold as a recurring subscription, billed either monthly or annually depending on the plan you select.
  • Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider, Stripe. By purchasing, you agree to Stripe's terms and authorise us to charge your nominated payment method.
  • Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until you cancel.
  • We may change subscription pricing from time to time. Any price change will apply from your next renewal, and we will give you reasonable notice before it takes effect.
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend or remove the featured placement until payment is successfully processed.

8. Cancellation and Refunds

  • You may cancel your featured listing subscription at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future renewals.
  • When you cancel, your featured placement continues until the end of the current paid billing period, after which the slot is released and may become available to other firms.
  • Except where required by law, fees already paid for the current billing period are non-refundable, and we do not provide pro-rata refunds for the unused portion of a period.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where we are liable for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

9. Intellectual Property

  • The website content, design, and logos are owned by Law Firms Australia.
  • Directory data may not be reproduced without written permission.
  • Law firms retain ownership of their respective content and trademarks.

10. Limitation of Liability

  • We provide the directory "as is" without any warranties.
  • We are not liable for decisions made based on directory information.
  • We are not responsible for the actions or services of listed law firms.
  • Our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Changes to Service

We reserve the right to:

  • Modify or discontinue any part of the service.
  • Update these Terms at any time.
  • Change our listing criteria or display format.
  • Add or remove features as needed.

Where we discontinue a paid feature you are currently subscribed to, or make a change that materially reduces its benefits, we will give you reasonable notice and, where required, a refund of any fees paid for the affected period that you have not yet received the benefit of.

12. Privacy and Data

  • Our handling of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
  • We use cookies and analytics as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • We protect user data but cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Australian law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts.
