AJ Law

AJ Law is a small law practice in Ashmore on the Gold Coast. It helps people with family and de facto law, wills and estates, business and commercial matters, and property and conveyancing.

The firm says clients deal with an experienced solicitor throughout, not a junior or paralegal after the first meeting. It takes a hands-on approach to each matter to avoid double handling and keep costs down.

Principal Andy Johnston was admitted as a solicitor in 1996. The firm also trades as AJ Family Law and often settles family matters through negotiation and mediation, which can help clients avoid court.

AJ Law has one office, at Suite 8, Ashmore Professional Centre, 115 Currumburra Road, Ashmore, Queensland. It serves clients on the Gold Coast. Its principal appears in all Queensland State courts and in Commonwealth courts.

The firm's main work is family and de facto law, including property settlements, divorce, pre-nuptial agreements, mediation and representation in the Family Court. It also prepares wills and powers of attorney, handles estate administration, probate and family provision claims, and acts in disputes over wills.

AJ Law also advises on business sales and purchases, commercial leases and employment contracts. It does residential conveyancing, including contract advice, settlements, transfers and refinancing. Andy Johnston has more than 20 years of experience, mostly in family law, and the firm belongs to the Queensland Law Society and the Family Law Practitioners Association.
