This is a honest and genuine balanced review from a real previous client (me). Here's the the good news and the bad news about Butler's from my experience. The good news:. John Butler comes across as highly experienced, was good at establishing good rapport. The bad news:. It cost me $10,000 over a two month period, without any progress made, and in fact it was a regression. John assigned me to his most junior lawyer, who is new to the firm, and didn't come across as competent to manage my complex case. Despite my repeated requests to John to assign a senior lawyer to my case, for some reason, John wouldn't simply give me a more experienced lawyer and stood by her most junior lawyer. It cost me a whopping $10,000 over a 2 month period with that junior lawyer who is incompetent and inexperienced. Results were no progress at all... In actual fact there was regression. Court hearing was a disaster as the other party's lawyer, who is experienced, comes across as aggressive, confronting personality, and that other party lawyer refused to engage with butlers junior lawyer and completely overwhelmed her at the Court hearing. In addition, the other party's lawyer refused to respond to any letter from butler's and was even bragging about it in Court. Finally, despite the fact that I had paid and settled the account, the junior lawyer, presumably bitter about me terminating her services, refused to return my documents that I had supplied her. Not very professional.
