I’m a former client of HG Property, Finance and Construction engaging them over 5 years to represent my property development business. That was until I was referred to HG Private to draft my Binding Financial Agreement (BFA). To streamline the process, I provided at engagement a concise BFA by Cooper Grace Ward to frame expectations for length and detail and agreed terms summarised in 7 dot points. $15,000 and 12+ months later, I was left with a complex, verbose, 150 page paperweight thats impossible to navigate and doesn’t reflect our expectations. As a result of the BFA length in a time based billing industry, my fiancée was quoted a further $10k+ to review taking projected cost of the process close to $25k to reach resolution. We were thus forced to write off the expense and unworkable agreement drafted by HG Private, who refused to review and stopped responding after issues were raised. Instead, we redrafted a new agreement that reflects what my fiancée and I wanted. A clear, concise, easy to read and understand document that gives both sides peace of mind. I’m no longer a client of HG in any capacity after being left in an untenable position by those I engaged as ‘specialists’ at HG Private. In summary, avoid HG Private and Geoff Wilson.
