In my experience they only help people who have broken the law and they have zero interest in helping victims, especially of serious things like sexual assault. How you can confidently answer a call and say sorry can’t help you to someone in such a serious situation blows my mind. Not even a list of paid commercial lawyers to contact instead of anything was provided. Just like the other recent review where they said there seems to be a prioritisation of Inner city Legal Centre being at events seems to be their priority — instead of providing actual legal assistance — seems true. Whatever on earth their current internal model is — is not working to help people in need.
