For the last 7 years I have suffered greatly with DV and only in the last 2 years had the courage to report to police to protect my son and I. I did not want to appear at court in fear and anxiety to see my ex. I had a recommendation to go and see Charlotte at Inner Melbourne Community Legal and was able to watch FVIO the court hearing anonymously. From the front desk staff to Charlotte's amazing legal representation on my behalf at court, I cannot recommend or speak highly enough of them all. In particular, my FVIO matters that Charlotte has done so far, she has picked up errors that the prosecution had made to the magistrates and able to correct them all and support our case. Please never close this centre and never let Charlotte go, as a single mum that has suffered so much I would be lost without her support.
Yesterday when I called, the receptionist was nice and the lawyer provided a lot of useful information that has helped me. But the receptionist today refused to help me with my legal questions which my questions are like yesterday but have additional questions. She kept saying they cannot help with this but yesterday the lawyer did help me.
A senior worker at Vincent Care Victoria suggested the services here & referred me to Wallis. Professionalism, courtesy & respect are highlighted in the support I have received from Wallis. I have made enquiries in the past & Wallis was able to make enquiries on my behalf & steer me in the right direction if the support i needed was out of their scope. I really value & appreciate this. It reminds me of what life should really be like, helping one another. I do recommend Inner Melbourne Community Legal for anyone needing support or advice!
quick response times are great, but some questionable legal advice, disputed by another community legal centre, and VCATleft me bewildered. Also they say they help the most vulnerable in our community but I am with chronic and complex care needs, and a targeted individual, yet they refused to even write a basic letter for me. Consistent with the discrimination I experience elsewhere.
Great group of lawyers that thrive to deliver a great strong outcome for their clients. Excellent in following direction and delivering a strong and powerful outcome. Highly recommend.
