Farrar Gesini Dunn

Farrar Gesini Dunn (FGD) helps people with separation, divorce, children's matters and property settlements. The firm also handles wills and estates, and its team includes lawyers in each of its offices.

FGD began in Canberra in 1995 and says it was one of the first Australian firms to practise only in family law. It aims to keep matters out of court where it can, using mediation, collaborative law and its Settle by Sunday process. When a case does go to court, its lawyers act as advocates.

The firm also runs an LGBTIQ Legal Service and offers a Child and Family Specialist at no extra cost to clients.

FGD has offices in Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Coffs Harbour and Cheltenham in Victoria. The Canberra office is at Level 1, 10 Rudd Street.

FGD works mainly in family law, including property settlements, parenting orders, child support, binding financial agreements and domestic violence matters. It also acts in wills and estates. The firm pioneered collaborative law in Australia and offers mediation and arbitration. Doyle's Guide has named it a first tier firm for family law in Canberra (2024) and for wills and estates in the ACT (2017).
