KSL are only interested in the money they can make from you. After about 18 months of representation, on a no win no fee basis, KSL dropped me as a client without warning VIA EMAIL. I was told that the reason for them no longer representing me was because they could not recover enough funds to make it financially viable to continue as my lawyers. I had no support to finish my WorkCover claim. I had to navigate WorkCover solo. I had to attend my Medical Assessment Tribunal appointment solo. KSL organised medical specialists appointments that I had to pay for out of pocket. They insisted that these were necessary for a successful claim. I spent more money on specialist appointments for second opinions of my health that were organised by KSL than I ended up being offered by WorkCover. The slew of doctors I saw resulted in large quantities of medications and counseling that altered my mental health, relationships and ability to work irrevocably. The entire process was a nightmare and if I could have my time again I would never have claimed and I would have the years of my life back. The WorkCover process is a terrible experience. This law firm does not care about, they only care if you make them money. Due to KSL not wanting me as a client, other law firms would not take me on as a client. I approached 4 other law firms after being cast aside by KSL, and each one said that if KSL saw no value in me as a client then they would not be interested in representing me. I now have no money, no career, no employment options and no lump sum to retire on. Large sums of money, $400k - $600k were suggested as compensation amounts by KSL. Always with the “we can’t guarantee the amount” clause. Remember they get 50% of your compensation. So for KSL it was going to be a good pay day. As soon as my legal fees got to the point where the 50% was not going to make them enough of a profit, I was ditched as a client. I was told that the lawyer’s time was better spent on more profitable clients. Think twice before signing with this law firm. I do not recommend them.
