2 Stars I engaged Shore Lawyers for a family law matter involving negotiations on a 75% to 50% asset split. According to their Cost Agreement, I had the right to negotiate the fee based on the limited scope of work—which was essentially only a few rounds of email correspondence. I want to stress that at no point was my negotiation on price unfair; in fact, the fee I requested was more than generous based on the limited work involved, which did not include attending court or even drafting the consent orders. However, when I raised this point, they flatly refused to adjust the fee, even though the actual work did not warrant the full cost. On a positive note, the lawyer I met was nice and polite. Unfortunately, the overall experience was marred by how rushed I felt on the first day. The principal lawyer literally instructed the staff taking my information to “not take too long,” which left me feeling dismissed and pressured. I also felt that the entire process was more about extracting money than genuinely helping a potential client. Overall, while the team can be courteous, the inflexible fee structure and the rushed, money-focused approach do not align with the client-centered service I expected. I would caution potential clients who value transparent and flexible legal fees to consider their options carefully.
