Sharon did a great job helping out with a financial issue. Very great at responding and very professional. Will go with her again if I ever need assistance again.
Front desk guy and the lawyers. The guy at the front desk was rude about my son saying I can't bring my son in and I should have someone else to watch my kid from there office I dont know you I don't trust no one with my kid! Secondly the lawyers let people down and don't help you they don't turn up or make you wait 3 hours+ and then say they can't come making you go home They also promise you get to see them but call susex street to tell people they will call you when you need assistance physically with documentation that the lawyer had said to bring in to the appointment! I tried to make a complaint to the manager and the guy came out and said everything is out dated and to top it off he asked me to tell him what is the issue I told him many times I don't need to explain it to him its personal matter! He said I only seen you 2 times ok no problem but do you know why the staff keep leaving and getting fired because things that are not necessary to information that has been provided! Absolutely unbelievable that they are government funded for just sitting doing nothing and nothing but negative reviews on here I agree with everyone who had to deal with them in the negative state!
Very lousy service, I did not get much assistance with them with my Anti Discrimination matter. The Disability Lawyer, was applying too much pressure tactics regarding my a disability matter and because of that they wanted to end the complaint quickly without proper resolution. It is no wonder why, people are left without help because there is “not any help” out there. When vulnerable people are pushed too far it is no wonder why many out there end up taking matters into their own hands. They claim to have “Disability Lawyers” but that does not seem to be the case at all. Oh well, another failure in the public system, they need further training on how to deal with vulnerable clients who are going through a difficult time. Calling themselves a “Disability Discrimination Legal Service” they blame the clients for their extreme mental state when really, they do not realise that they are probably the ones who provoke the aggression from their clients. It is very unfortunate that if you the individual are poor and have no money, then you can never get the justice that you rightly deserve. This legal centre needs to do more further training on how to deal with clients with mental disabilities instead of “constantly blaming clients for their behaviours” they would use the language of “Occupational Workplace Health and Safety” as their argument as to why it is they had to terminate working with that individual client. Not very helpful at all. They claim that they understand how to work with clients with Disabilities and mental health issues but really they do not have a clue, they rather deny all culpability by constantly shifting the blame onto their clients, which can often do more harm than good. Clients could be having a bad day with their mental health and other issues and to be met with solicitors constantly putting pressure on them all the time does not really help much. (I can understand that they have their time frames, but a more gentle, emphatic approach can be provided). They need further training themselves, on how to deal with people. (This woman Joharna Wynden) who is a “principal solicitor” also needs to learn how to acknowledge client’s grievances when they are having a communication breakdown with their legal advocates). Unfortunately, she is blinded, shielded by her own ignorance at how to deal with complex clients and their challenging behaviours that she rather shut down their cases than trying to figure out, how to go about in dealing with issues. Very appalling actually! It is no wonder why the system is truly broken because the public assistance out there is deemed very inadequate. Unfortunately though, when options are limited many out there can only accept whatever is available, not very helpful at all.
Another bad review - if you can I’d recommend paying for advice as booking time off work for an 11am appointment, I wasn’t seen until 11:40am. (As patient as possible) The advice was decent for a next step but the service is shocking and it was under 15minutes of legal advice including the women Tahluni, was rude as well, cut me off a few times even though I waited 40 minutes 😝. Unfortunately, if it’s a free service this is what you should expect. Good luck :-)
Have been calling for support the past 3 days and on Monday was told I would receive a call back by Tuesday afternoon at the latest it's now Wednesday and I've not had any contact from them
