My daughter’s case went back to court on the 22nd January. Tried calling and sending emails to try and found out the outcome and nothing! I sent an email to the prosecutions office who informed me of the outcome but reminded me they don’t represent my daughter and to liase with Woman’s Legal. Did they not think that’s why I tried to do? They just assumed I went straight to them! This is the firm the QLD prosecution department recommended and referred us to yet can’t even get an update. Suppose to be representing my child. Defence probably one the motion because the lawyer didn’t show up. Don’t use their service! Just another money hungry service that doesn’t care about the victims.
This team is working genuine support to women who are in need of assistance or advice. I am a single mom. And this is the best place I get real support compactly. Its still on progress but atleast my road is brighter with their help. They will surely help you too. Give them a call.
DON'T BOTHER CALLING THESE GUYS! THEY WILL REJECT YOU IF YOU DONT HAVE MONEY AND THEIR POLICY IS NOT DISCLOSE THE REASON WHY!! I was referred to them by multiple DV services, and when I was brave enough to finally call, they asked about my income, put me on hold, retrieved the call, and said they can't help me and their policy is, they aren't allowed to tell you the reason why they can't help. I was extremely offended that I wasn't even given the chance to say a single thing. The only thing they got from me was what my main source of income was, and how much it was!. SERIOUSLY, FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE WORTH CALLING!! DONT CALL WLSQ!!
They talk about being pro women rights, and the CEO is in love with the press and camera selling this story, just scroll down the facebook, is it (Women's Legal or her private account of achievements). But having a friend that used this organisation. It is a complete lie! They treat women poorly, and have total disrespect for women's rights. They are clearly all about public image and perception and being part of the government gravy train of funding. But, deep down, they don't care, they cheat and lie and have no regard for anyone. The most insulting part. As a women that served in the ADF. You don't even acknowledge ANZAC day or remembrance day in honour of those (even if you only side with women) that have served and sacrificed. Take a long hard look at yourselves!
Great staff very friendly and helpful. A space made for women and by women. Staff was very polite and they create a safe and welcoming environment which is definitely what you look for in a time of need. Upon appointment, you can get a 30 minutes complementary advice session with a woman solicitor. Also there were pampering products and a well equipped play area for little ones which I found very considerate. Definitely recommend this place if you're in need of free legal advice and look for a safe, well organised and considerate environment for you and your kids.
