If it is possible to give a zero rating I would. This man, Neville Barber has no compassion, he is extremely rude and condescending and my list goes on. He had no interest in his client nor any interest in representing him other than telling him to plead guilty. His manner was so unpleasant and the way in which he communicated was so confusing and ineffective (to a child going through the court system) that it actually delayed the process. If Neville had it his way and if we followed his narrow and obtuse advice, the client would be in prison. If you are reading this and thinking of engaging with Neville Barber, please rethink it and find someone who actually cares about their job and representing clients. Thankfully we requested a different lawyer who listened to us and took the time and effort to do their job, UNLIKE NEVILLE. He is NOT a good lawyer, he doesn't care and he has terrible people skills, it's a wonder he is still on the scene as I could not recommend him any less. Thankfully the outcome was good, absolutely no thanks to him. I am not writing this to tarnish his reputation (however it is doubtful all of the good reviews are from actual clients and most likely family members) I am writing this to warn others. Because going through the court system is stressful enough without having the stress of a lawyer who doesn't care about his job or client. Do not recommend! In response to your reply. The client was unsure how to proceed as Neville Barber refused to take into consideration that the client may have had a good case as there were witnesses and evidence that he dismissed. Instead, informing us that the best course of action was to plead guilty! And if he decides to plead otherwise, he would not represent him and also informed us that the client would likely go to prison! We found a better lawyer that actually did the job and looked into the evidence and the witnesses' testimonies. It was discontinued, absolutely no thanks to Neville Barber. I can't imagine where we would be if we had have followed his terrible advice. If you want legal representation, do not go to Neville. Please don't respond to this comment as there is nothing you could possibly say to defend how that man acted in his duty as a Lawyer for a child. Shame on you.
