I was contacted by Petersen Westbrook after the real estate agent selling my house passed on my details. My first conversation with them was simply to understand what they do and what their fees were. I was told the first step would be for me to complete a questionnaire, and only after that would the process of the sale begin. I never filled in the questionnaire because I decided not to proceed. A week later I received a follow-up call, and I clearly explained that I did not wish to move forward. Despite this, they later sent me an invoice for “searches” they claim to have carried out. I never requested any searches, and based on what they told me, nothing should have started until I completed the questionnaire. When I asked them to revoke the invoice, they insisted I had given consent - something I absolutely did not do. They refused to accept my position and stood firm on charging me for work I never asked for. I DO NOT recommend this firm. They invoiced me for services that I did not request, did not authorise, and did not expect. A very disappointing and frustrating experience.
