I recently applied for a legal assistant for Slater and Gordon which was advertised on Seek. I had someone from the Melbourne office contacting me in relation to my application. In which, she was requesting for a phone interview in two days time. I responded to the original email 20 minutes after the email was sent and was greeted with a 'out of office' notice. The day the phone interview was scheduled, I received no phone call. I emailed again, saying I will take Friday off work if she would like to discuss my application. Once again, I had no response. Two weeks later, I finally received some communication and was told the recruitment was put on hold and to see if I had any availability for a phone interview. A new date and time was agreed and a confirmation email was received. The new date approached and again, I received no phone call. It's incredibly upsetting to experience this from a reputable company. I understand that some incidents may occur during the recruitment process. However, it's best to communicate with your applicants so they are aware of what is going on and isn't left in the dark. The job hunt post graduation is stressful enough as is, we don't need the extra stress of companies ghosting us during the process.
After 3 years with a previous Lawyer, and the breakdown of that relationship, Slater and Gordon came to my rescue. They only took over my case in September last year, and were faced with a mountain of paperwork, immediate lodgement of Court documents, and trying, in a very short time, familiarise themselves with my situation. I was initially introduced to Oliver, who was not only sympathetic to my situation and case, he was a true professional to his industry. Unfortunately he moved from Slater and Gordon just before Christmas. I got a phone call, many, since everyone had returned from the New Year holidays, asking that I contact Daniel Stojanoski from the Firm. Daniel has taken over my case and despite only having done so for a couple of weeks, we have spoken more than my previous lawyers spoke with me in a 6 to 12 month period. We still have a way to go on my case, but thank you Daniel, so far, for renewing confidence in securing a good outcome.
Matthew Giles from Slater and Gordon in Perth recently represented myself in my Unfair Dismissal Claim through Fair Work Australia. From the very beginning of the initial phone call right through to the successful settlement of my claim, I received brilliant service and couldn’t have hoped for a better experience. Matthew was a great listener and I knew that he cared about me and that I was not just another client. He explained everything so clearly so I knew where I stood the entire time and I felt very comfortable and supported throughout the whole process. He is knowledgeable, experienced and professional. If you are looking for the best in representation when it comes to employment matters and unfair dismissal matters, make sure you contact Slater and Gordon Lawyers in Perth and ask for Matthew Giles.
Just a few minutes ago I called them twice and they hung up on me without giving me any reason. The first time I called and the person who answered the phone just started talking about my case and she suddenly hung up on me. I thought it might be an accident so I called again, but the person hung up as soon as the call was connected. I then realized that they hung up on me on purpose. It was so rude.
Robert Hartman, re compensation case July 2024. Slater and Gordon senior practice leader regarding Asbestos Compensation Claims, Tricia Wong has been a wonderful help and encouragement during the lead up to, and through the proceedings. Tricia gave me such confidence speaking with her and her prompt response to my calls and questions was a great help. the complete proceedings from the beginning to final closing of the books was made so simple by her and her wonderful Law Clerk Shelby. I would like to thank you both for a "Very Successful Outcome" along with the magistrate who was also very helpful in facilitating the proceedings. Thankyou all, I could not have wished for a better team. Kind regards, Robert Hartman.
